GMC Board Meeting - Jan. 29, 2018
The GMC School Board met Monday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 in the main conference room. In attendance were Patty Baucom, Eddie Burch, Tony Kouskolekas, John Mansure, John Short, Donna Smith, Pauline Sternick, and Ryan Summey. Absent were Jeff Bullock, Mark Mathis and Vernon Rutland.
The Board unanimously passed the following motions:
- motion to approve a letter drafted by Mr. Armstrong to South Carolina Public Charter School District requesting a waiver for 3 days missed on January 17, 18, and 19 due to inclement weather
- motion to approve Administration’s recommendation to engage Blue Ridge Excavation to clear, grade, and seed area next to the new building in the amount of $5,900
- motion to get pricing and approval from the Greenville Tech Facilities Committee for a sign for the Greenville Tech main entrance, a sign at the rear entrance, and a sign for in front of the school
The Board reviewed the December financial report and passed a motion to accept the financial reports for December.
The Board also discussed amending the way Mastery is defined in the school charter as well as the Student and Parent Survey results and the Succession Plan Policy.
GMC English teacher Megan Schonhar gave a presentation on "Using Infographics to Enhance Student Literacy Skills Across Content Areas."
