Eagles Take Super Bowl Win, 41-33
The Super Bowl was between the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the New England Patriots on Sunday February 4,2018. The game was held at the U.S. banks stadium in Minneapolis, MN. The Patriots were 4-and-a-half point favorites to beat the Eagles. If they'd won, they would have walked away with their sixth Super Bowl championship trophy. However, the Eagles were able to take an underdog win as the game ended with a score of 41-33 in favor of the Eagles. This would be the first championship victory of the Philadelphia Eagles since 1933.
The win is being questioned by many Patriot fans as Tom Brady fumbled the ball in the fourth quarter of the game with about two minutes left to go. He sat down in half shock and half disappointment in the middle of the field. Brady has 5 championships under his belt and seemed very disappointed to have lost this sixth chance for a title for his team. The win is also being questioned for the sad misfortune of Brandin Cooks concussion. Cooks was a receiver for the Patriots but was quickly issued unable to play in the game after being tackled by Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins. It was a helmet-to-helmet hit. There has yet to be an update on his condition after the game. This incident is being questioned because there is a NFL rule of helmet-to-helmet hits are banned - unless it's classed an 'incidental' contact. If you see the video of Malcolm ramming into Cooks you will see it was anything but incidental, however Malcolm escaped punishment of this penalty.
Though each team had its ups and downs, everyone loved the commercials, halftime show by Justin Timberlake, and overall environment of this exciting event. Congratulations to the Eagles and the Eagle fans!
