GMC Board Special Election Results
Jamie Harvey has been elected to fill the position left vacant on the GMC School Board after the resignation of Pauline Sternick.
Harvey describes herself as a "veteran classroom teacher, parent of two GMC students, and long-time advocate for school choice." She graduated from Wofford College in 1997 and earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2014. She currently teaches AP English Language and AP English Literature at the SC Connections Academy and has been a Master Teacher at the SCCA since 2012.
She lives in Travelers Rest with her husband, Den, and and two children Emma (11th grade) and Noah (9th grade). They own three local Subway restaurants.
In the statement released by the board, Patty Baucom (Policy/Goverance Chair) says they "would like to thank all the faculty, families, and staff who participated by voting in this special election."
