March 10, 1876: The first words ever transmitted by telephone are spoken.

March 11, 2009: Toyota sells 1 millionth hybrid in U.S.
"The Toyota Motor Company announces on this day in 2009 that it has sold over 1 million gas-electric hybrid vehicles in the U.S. under its six Toyota and Lexus brands. The sales were led by the Prius, the world’s first mass-market hybrid car, which was launched in Japan in October 1997 and introduced in America in July 2000."
March 12, 1938: Germany annexes Austria.

March 16, 1926: First liquid-fueled rocket is launched.
"The first man to give hope to dreams of space travel is American Robert H. Goddard, who successfully launches the world’s first liquid-fueled rocket at Auburn, Massachusetts, on March 16, 1926. The rocket traveled for 2.5 seconds at a speed of about 60 mph."
