TikTok, Make Bullying Stop
Recently, the TikTok app has been surfaced everywhere. Whether it has been before a YouTube video or on Instagram, we have all seen the videos. TikTok is the new and improved version of Musical.ly. The app gives you the ability to create short videos, and even collaborations. Last fall, the problem of harassment on the app evolved. Many hate comments were left on videos, and the creators of the app responded with, “Promoting a safe and positive app environment is our top priority, and we have a number of measures in place to protect against misuse.” This was said in the result of several jokes during collaborations. Specifically there were two instances where a person was creating a duet video and the person that joined the video pretended to suffocate. They other one pretended to hang themselves. This was just a portion of what the app was facing, because bullying was is a major factor. Personally, I have never been the biggest fan off the app. I sometimes find the advertisements annoying when all I want is to watch my YouTube video. Contrary to what we believe, always think before you speak and act.
