Is Disney+ Worth It?
Recently, I purchased the new app Disney+. After having it for a month, I feel Disney+ will fade out just like the Disney castle at the beginning of every Disney movie.
Disney+ was released to the app store on November 12, 2019. It begins with a week long free trial and after will cost $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year It offers tons of movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and 20th Century Fox. Every Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story and Avenger movie is available to be watched. Along with these hard to find movies constantly streaming, every episode of Hannah Montana, Kim Possible, Wizards of Waverly Place and Suite Life on Deck are available! This app sounds great! However, it is a Picasso Painting in disguise. From afar it like your new obsession but, when you finally buy it, you get to see how many of the entries are short films, movies you have never heard of and the almost famous clips of past.
I really enjoyed my first week on the app. I was overwhelmed by all of my choices in the beginning but quikly learned there were only a few real choices for me. I began watching Hannah Montana and loved the nostalgia it brought me. I watched old movies I had only seen once and loved it! Now, after being over a month into the app, I am running out of things to watch. I still enjoy watching the shows but when I look for a movie to watch instead I see the limited options. I also found many of the shows I watched as a pre-teen are not included in the app. Sonny With A Chance and Dog With A Blog are missing along with the beloved Danny Phantom. We can only hope for the best within the app in the next update. Disney has released a statement saying they plan to add more to the app as time goes on. I am anxious to see how much they listen to their audience in the following month. Only time will tell if Disney+ will really be worth the money but for now it isn't.
