Small Business Spotlight: Pita Grille
During the COVID-19 pandemic, several small businesses have been struggling and in some cases, dismissed. The newspaper is going to do its best to notify you of the best small businesses to support during this time! Go support your community, Blazers!
The first small business spotlight goes to Pita Grille on Wade Hampton. I have been going with my Mom for about two years now and we love the food! If you love Greek food, you are going to love this place and its affordable pricing! *see picture of menu* They have selections from subs, specialty dishes, salads, pita wraps, calzones, and so much more! The Pita Grille's slogan is "A delightful medley of Mediterranean foods" and they very much fit that description.
The background of the Pita Grille has a lot to do with the owner, Bassem Falous. Mr. Bassem is interestingly from Lebanon! He has worked his entire life to make his ambitions and opportunities possible. When he was a kid, he cooked and provided for his family in Lebanon, and that is what inspired him to become a restaurant owner. Mr. Bassem has traveled to many parts of the world, including- Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Venezuela- he has been everywhere! Talking to Mr. Bassem was such a pleasure and I truly value the experience. For Mr. Bassem, the opportunities in America and his determination are what made Pita Grille possible. I value his story and his hard work. He makes his workers and his customers truly feel at home in his restaurant.
I would encourage you, Blazer Nation, to eat at a place that both makes amazing food and values people. You can make a difference in your community by making choices to eat at places that support and appraise the availability of opportunity, the community, and what you put in your mouth! I want to thank Mr. Bassem and his wonderful waitress for being so kind to talk to me. Your care and your food truly reflect your ambition and kindness.
